Private Lessons

Please note: Private lessons are taught by Bits of Thread owner, Allison Lince-Bentley. They are only offered during daytime hours Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm.

Private lessons give you an opportunity for customized one-on-one assistance on topics and projects you choose. Before your first lesson, you can contact us to discuss your interests and goals, and we will design a lesson (or series of lessons) that will help you gain the skills you want to build. Lessons can be taken solo or with another person as you prefer.

TOPICS TAUGHT

Any of the content taught in our group classes can also be taught in private lessons. In general, we can cover:

  • Intro to Sewing and beginner projects
  • Bags and accessories
  • Hemming, mending, and clothing alterations
  • Garment construction for men, women, and children from a pattern
  • Creating patterns from existing clothes or items
  • Pattern making and draping for clothing and accessories
  • Quilting (will be referred to another instructor)
  • Embroidery (will be referred to another instructor)
  • Hand sewing

If you don’t see what you’re looking for on this list, just contact us for more information.
